Mr Parker, the Assistant Headteacher in charge of monitoring teaching and learning said "the quality of teaching at Handsworth Grange Community Sports College is improving and we have fantastic teachers. Ofsted stated that teaching has improved significantly and that the school has a number of outstanding practitioners"
"Pupils experience a wide variety of learning styles and activities. We try to make all our lessons fun and engaging and linked to the real world. For example two of our year 8 pupils Freddie and Lilly, made a camera in Science, a website in ICT, learnt how to play Blues music and made a clock in Technology - all in one day! We make all our lessons personalised so that each individual pupils needs are catered for by ensuring that we get to know all our pupils and adapting our teaching methods to suit them."
"It is the responsibility of the teachers and pupils to make lessons exciting, enjoyable and a quality learning experience – I try to help them all improve because this is what our school is about. We want to be the best we possibly can at everything we do!"
"If I could sum up Handsworth Grange Community Sports College in one word it would be "togetherness" because no matter who you are, or where you are from or whether you are a teacher or a student, we all work together as one. We are all equal. This is the foundation of our school, because this is what we expect from all our pupils and what we as a school have become over the last few years"
