Supporting your child

At Handsworth Grange Community Sports College we believe that every child has the right to a safe, happy and challenging education where they are able to achieve their full potential.  Our high expectations in terms of attainment, behaviour, uniform and attendance and punctuality ensure that the school community thrives and achieves success.

Supporting your child

The schools Inclusion team, overseen by an Assistant Head teacher, will help and support your child from year 7 to 11.  Form Tutors, Heads of Year, Key Stage Managers Senior Learning Mentors, Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator, Teaching Assistants and many other staff work together to ensure that pupils are safe, happy and that they can make progress and achieve.

No matter what the problem whether it be big or small our experienced and caring inclusion team are trained to deal with a range of emotional, personal, social, physical or mental health issues or concerns that may arise.  Where necessary we work closely with outside agencies to provide the best possible support for your child during their time at Handsworth Grange Community Sports College.

If parents have any concerns or issues they should contact the child tutor in the first instance.  Subject specific concerns should go to the teacher or subject leader.

Young Carers

We have many fantastic and dedicated young people in our school who work selflessly and tirelessly to support and care for family members with long term health issues.

If you have, or know any pupil who gives extra support in your family, you may contact Bev Ramsey (Young Carers Lead) on 2542661 or mobile 07816 894067

Handsworth Grange has achieved the Bronze Award from the Carers Trust for the work we do in identifying and supporting our Young Carers.

We are here to help, not to judge.

Thanks
