Key Stage 4

 

At Key Stage 4 our pupils follow a core curriculum of:

• English (Including Literature)
• Mathematics
• Double or Single Award Science
• Religious Studies
• Physical Education
• PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health & Citizenship    Education)

 

Pupils then choose from a variety of Options which may include:

 

• Sepertae GCSE's in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
• Modern Foreign Languages
• Art and Design
• Music
• Drama
• History
• Geography
• Information and Communications
• Technology
• Physical Education
• Media Studies
• Religious Studies
• Design and Technology.
• Design and Technology specialisation in Resistant Materials, Food or Textiles.

 

Additionally, pupils may also opt for a vocational subject where they learn about a broad work area. These subjects lead to a range of qualifications and may include off-site study. Options in vocational subjects currently include; Construction, Health & Social Care, Engineering Diploma, Business Languages, Certificate for ICT, Catering & Hospitality, Vehicle Maintenance, Beauty & Consultancy and the choice is updated each year.

 

The two in one GCSE CoPE qualification is accredited by AQA – one of the examination bodies specialising in work related and extra curricular qualifications. This award sees the pupils demonstrate their employability skills and evidence all thier achievements in and around school.

 

We are also able to run some off-site courses. These are run by Learning 4 Life through the Local Authority and include such courses as Hair and Beauty, Construction, Engineering, or Retail and Distribution.
